Debut album's wide appeal

FROM choir to contemporary pop, Fenella Wagener promises her debut album will appeal.

The 20-year-old Caulfield North resident has recorded five songs with ARIA award-winning artist and songwriter Peter ?Reggie? Bowman.

Inspired by Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera and Pink, Wagener?s songs have a ?soft-rock pop feel? with some venturing into the dance genre.

The album contains personal songs that ?everyone can relate to?, Wagener said.

?It?s about times experienced in life over the last couple of years.

?It?s got a bit of everything, from soft slow ballads to pop rock songs, she said.

Originally from Bendigo, Wagener moved to Melbourne 18 months ago to pursue her musical career.

She is also studying journalism at Monash University and is lead singer of a covers band.

Fenella is available at iTunes for $7.
