After a busy weekend of royal events, the princes took to the field on opposing sides for the Sentebale Polo Cup at the Coworth Park Polo Club near Ascot, Berkshire.
The event was designed to raise money and awareness for the Sentebale charity that Harry co-founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006 to help disadvantaged youngsters in the African country. (Harry also took William to Lesotho last year to see the work of his charity in a remote mountainous mountain area.)
Despite torrential rain and strong winds, a crowd of 300 spectators watched as William's team Tusk defeated Harry's team Sentebale 1-0, with the Duke of Cambridge managing to stop his younger brother from scoring a crucial goal with a last-second intervention.
Throughout the match, Harry, 26, was in the thick of the action and being flagged by the umpires, while William, 28, played a more thoughtful and defensive game with only the occasional rampage forward.
Thankfully, both princes survived the slippery conditions unscathed.
After the game, Harry hosted a dinner and charity auction. Guests drank wine and dined on potted salmon, cottage pie and a summer pudding for dessert.
During his post-dinner speech, Harry spoke about the charity and recalled a "young herd boy called Tholo" that he and his brother met in Lesotho.
"He was seven-years-old. He had walked on his own through the cold and darkness for five miles," Harry said. "Why did he do it? Because he wanted to learn how to read and write. You see, he wants to become a doctor so that ? in his own words ? he can help his people."
