The London-born singer has enjoyed a stellar 2011 thanks to the chart success of her debut album Who You Are, but admits her time in the spotlight has been marred by nasty insults and menacing threats.
She tells Q magazine, "I've had people say, 'I wanna kill you and your family.' Death threats. I've had people say I hope you get HIV and throat cancer at the same time... They say I look like a drag queen. I think the world has become obsessed with hating things."
But the Price Tag hitmaker refuses to let the taunts get her down: "People who wanna spread bad energy, I ain't got time for them to be in my psyche."
