ASHLEY Cole is said to be planning to woo Cheryl Cole back by buying her a pet chihuahua for her birthday.

Footballer Ashley Cole, who Cheryl Cole divorced following claims he cheated on her with several women, is believed to have bought a pet chihuahua to add to the songstress' existing brood.

Apparently he's planning on surprising her with the pup on her 28th birthday on June 30, in hope of winning her back.

A family friend revealed Ashley has wanted a new dog for a while, but hasn't felt the time has been right until now.

The Chelsea footballer has reportedly already called a breeder, to get the ball rolling.

He's said to also be hoping Cheryl will go away with him so they can discuss their future.

Meanwhile, Ashley's former teammate Michael Woods has moved out of the former couple's marital home in Surrey, to make room for Cheryl - with Ashley said to be "confident" he can win her back.
