The eliminated singer told reporters on a recent conference call that she thought television had changed the landscape for emerging artists and how they built their fanbase.
"I absolutely think reality shows are the new way to get heard," she said. "For some strange reason people gravitate to what they see. It's the power of television - there are no words to describe it. I always tell people that television will change your life and do more for you than getting in your car and handing out posters or flyers.
"It's changed the way artists get signed and I think it's a great vehicle for a lot of artists who don't fit the mold and most times never get the opportunity to walk up to a record label, present a demo or do a showcase."
Ramsey was pitted against teammate Frenchie Davis for a performance of Beyonc's 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' for their battle round. The track was chosen by their mentor Christina Aguilera.
"I was thinking, 'Oh my gosh, let's just go and get this over with!'" she recounted, when asked for her thoughts ahead of the duet. "I was trying to remember all the words. I never knew it had so many words! I was thinking, 'Lord, please don't let me forget these words and help me try to remember how to move on the stage'."
Discussing the choice of song, she suggested that Aguilera had wanted to see her attempting an uptempo track rather than the more expected midtempo or ballad choices, but admitted that she hadn't been entirely convinced by the final choice.
"I am definitely not an 'all the single ladies' girl, it just seemed like the wrong song," she said. "I love Beyonc, I play her music all the time, but I was kind of not really happy about the song choice because it didn't seem like if Frenchie and I are going to be in a vocal battle to find the best singer, that was the best song. I thought we should have had a singing song.
"It was completely out of my element and I'm a girl who can't dance. I'm horrible when it comes to dancing and trying to move on stage and shake my booty! It was a little out of my element and I think that came across and showed!"
However, she went on to say that despite her elimination, she was "still proud" of her performance, and suggested that Aguilera had ultimately made the right decision in advancing Davis to the next round. "It was an overall great experience and at the end of the day, I realize that Frenchie is a lot like me," she explained. "She has been doing this for years in one avenue or another. I've had two or three albums and she hasn't had one. I think Christina made the right choice to give her the one shot to have a recording career.""For me, The Voice was never really about, 'Will I win this?'" she added, when asked what she had learned from the experience. "It was about trying to bring more awareness to myself as an artist and hoping that something else great comes out of it at the end of the day."
Her future plans include "hanging up her microphone" to take a break back home in Florida, although she insisted that did not mean that she was quitting the industry. She also revealed that she would like to pursue acting, telling reporters that she had previously auditioned for the role of Effie in Dreamgirls.
As for who she is rooting for in the competition now, she told Digital Spy that she is excited to see how Javier Colon progresses. "In my opinion, he's a real entertainer and a real musician. I think he's just great and deserves the opportunity to win this and take care of his family and make up for the time the record labels dropped him."
